Serial flasher back in jail for targeting 9-year-old girl five months after his release – The Straits Times (16 June 2021)

TLDR version: A flasher who was recently released from jail was sentenced again for sexual exposure. He had pulled down his pants in public and showed his private parts to 8 and 9-year-old girls.

More thoughts: Most offences under the Penal Code carry enhanced penalties if committed against victims under 14 years old.

Specifically, the crime of sexual exposure is usually punishable with up to a year’s imprisonment, a fine, or both.

If the victim is below 14 years old, the punishment can extend to 2 years’ imprisonment, and fine or caning.
