38 people under probe for flouting Covid-19 rules at illegal public entertainment outlets – The Straits Times (29 May 2021)

TLDR version: Four teenagers aged between 15 and 18 were arrested in connection with a gathering of 29 people found drinking and socialising within the first week of Phase Two (Heightened Alert).

They are being investigated not only for breach of Covid-19 safe distancing measures but also for drug offences and offences under the Public Entertainments Act and Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015.

More thoughts: The charges under the Public Entertainments Act and Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015 involve providing public entertainment and liquor without a valid licence.

But apart from that, it should be noted that the legal drinking age in Singapore is 18 years old. Those below that age cannot buy or drink alcohol.

In addition, those of any age who possess or consume the controlled drugs in the First Schedule of the Misuse of Drugs Act would be liable to imprisonment and/or fines.
